Create a WhatsApp broadcast
Write and test the whole campaign in Unit. You choose the recipients, review the cost and confirm the send.
Before you start
Connect the WhatsApp Business account you will send from and add its Meta payment method. Have permission to send this kind of message to the selected contacts. A prior chat or an imported number does not, by itself, establish marketing consent.
In the campaign composer
- Open Campaigns, create a WhatsApp campaign, and choose the connected channel. The recipient list is limited to that channel.
- Select the contacts to include. You can review the reachable count and exclude people who should not receive this message.
- Write the message. Optionally add a customer-name greeting, a text header or a saved JPEG, PNG, MP4 or PDF header, and quick-reply or website buttons. Preview the finished message.
- Choose Check and save message. Unit reuses an identical approved template on this WhatsApp account when one exists. Otherwise, it submits the message to Meta for review. Review time varies; keep the composer open to see status updates, or wait for the Unit notification bell after you leave.
- Once approved, review the recipient count and the Unit wallet fee. Confirm the campaign in the composer. You can also confirm a pending template for sending after Meta approves it.
- Open the campaign to inspect each recipient's sent, delivered, read or failed result. A campaign summary alone can hide individual failures.
What the two charges mean
Unit shows its broadcast fee before you confirm. The fee depends on the approved template category and the recipient's market. Unit reserves the quoted amount from your wallet when the campaign starts and releases the portion for provider-reported failures.
Meta charges the business that owns the connected WhatsApp Business Account directly for applicable messages. Meta's amount is separate from your Unit wallet quote. See Unit pricing for Ghana examples and our terms for billing and audience responsibilities.
